Legendary Tropezien beach and restaurant CAP21 is known for its effortless atmosphere, exceptional service and, perhaps most of all, its fine Provençal cuisine. As popular with locals as with regular visitors from as far afield as California and even Japan, the classic menu is something which will never change and the reputation has grown year after year.
Starters are inspired by the Mediterranean setting in the heart of Pampelonne with fresh artichokes, sumptuous tomatoes, garlic-infused octopus and the much-loved crispy goats cheese and honey salad. Influences from further afield bring together Thaï chicken, Vietnamese spring rolls and tuna sashimi.
On to the main course where CAP21 are as renowned for their filet of beef and pluma de pata negra as they are for the esteemed fish menu. Here the Provençal-style squid scoops the accolades (and the No1 ranking customer favourite) but roasted fillet of John Dory, gambas flambéd in pastis and sole meunière are firm favourites. A special mention for Sunday, when the phone rings of the hook from 9am as customers call to reserve Bruno’s celebrated paëlla.
Before you head for a dip, leave room for Fromage Blanc with raspberry coulis, the irresistibly indulgent chocolate fondant or a classic crème brulée.
